The Redmi Note 5 is only a rebranded Redmi 5 Plus featuring The same specs, both hardware and software, while the Note 5 Pro is an entirely new product with some Redmi Note 5 attributes. Both featured 5.99-inch display on 18:9 aspect ratio panel but different chip.
Chosing Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro over Xiaomi Redmi Note 5
The Redmi 5 Pro is the new mid-range power house with Snapdragon 636 chip, coupled with 4/64GB memory configuration and AnTuTu score of 98,776, while Redmi Note 5 scored 62,500 with Snapdragon 625, coupled with 4/64GB memory configuration.
For more enhanced performance, Xiaomi has equipped Redmi Note 5 Pro with Adreno 509 GPU for more graphics operations as regards the 506 which featured in the Note 5.
The camera is another talking point about the Redmi Note 5 Pro, featuring first ever Xiaomi dual rear camera arrangement on a mid-range Smartphone, while the Note 5 has a single rear 12MP sensor with 5MP snapper and a selfie spotlight. The dual sensor of the Redmi Note 5 Pro comes with 12MP, f/2.2 aperture lens, while the sub shooter for making bokeh effect come with 5MP and f/2.0 aperture lens.
Yet another reason why you should go for the Redmi 5 Pro, it has a better camera feature. Redmi Note 5 lacks dual camera feature and it would be impossible to make a bokeh effect with the camera. It also has a massive 20MP selfie camera, optimized to take clear and Bright pictures, while the Note 5 has a 5MP front selfie snapper.
Note 5 Pro featured facial unlock, the first for any Xiaomi Smartphone, yet another thing why you should choose it ahead of the Note 5. What it means it that you will be getting a total of 5 unlock features with the Note 5 Pro, which the Note 5 lacks. Also you will be getting a more optimized security and enhanced fingerprint unlock, faster than that of Note 5.
The Note 5 is already selling in China, with a price tag of 155$ for the 3/32GB memory configuration, while the 4/64GB memory combo sales from 209$. Note 5 Pro is not on sale yet, but will sell starting from 218$. Both phones are available in colors of Champagne Gold, Rose Gold, Blue, and Black.
