POCO F1 by Xiaomi unveiled some couple of months ago debuted with Android O. The device, however, is yet to upgrade to the latest Android OS, Android Pie. Though is certain the device would get the update but there was never any confirmation till now.
Jai Mani, the head of product at Poco phone global has confirmed the POCO F1 Oreo update. It’s on his twitter handle when answering a user’s query about the Poco F1 Oreo update. He confirmed it by saying “ we’ll do at least P and Q.” The P we know is Android Pie, but the Q might just be all play.
Meanwhile, POCO F1 is the first phone to debut from the Flagship line from Xiaomi. Its target is to produce cost-efficient smartphones like OnePlus.
POCO F1 debuted with a 6.18-inch display, powered by Snapdragon 845 Octa-core processor. The SoC is paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal memory, which can also be expanded via Micro SD.
Out of the box, it runs MIUI 9.6 (Poco design) based on Android Oreo but since the Poco F1 Oreo update has been confirmed, things will be changing soon. Inside the slim body is 4000mAh battery that charges through USB-C port while supporting fast charge 9V/2A (Quick Charge 3.0)
The camera also features some interesting specs like the dual 12MP main sensor paired with a 5MP depth sensor camera. Sensor onboard the main camera is Sony IMX363, while on the front is a 20MP high-resolution camera.
Poco F1 has an asking price of $298 and is available in colors of Black and Blue. There’s a special Rosso Red Edition that was launched for the Indian market.
