Xiaomi has confirmed through its official Twitter account that it has started sending a new update to MI Mix 2s. The new update is based on Android Pie and is currently hitting MI Mix 2s in China, making it the first Xiaomi flagship of 2018 to receive the update.
Changelog of MI Mix 2s Android Pie update
The update is a major one that brings a lot of Android Pie goodies to the device. It’s based on system performance and AI improvement which include adaptive battery and adaptive brightness. Also with the Android Pie update is a smart suggestion for app features and Digital wellbeing for keeping taps with your screen time.
In-line with the idea of MIUI 10, which is basically on Intelligence learning, your device will now be able to keep tracks of your actions to enhance loading of your most used applications to enhance switching between them, after updating to Android Pie. There is now a more refined User Interface that will manage the extended screen effortlessly.
The MI Mix 2s Android Pie update has also added new notification sounds which produce ambient sounds. There are also some improvements in the edge detection for the bokeh photos.
Meanwhile, MI Mix 2s was officially unveiled in March featuring a tall 5.99-inch display of 1080 x 2160px resolution. It’s powered by Snapdragon 845 Octa-core processor paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal memory but lacks an expansion slot. On the camera department is dual 12MP main snapper accompanied by a 12MP depth sensor. The front camera is a 5MP selfie snapper
The MI Mix 2s is the first Xiaomi device to feature the Xiao AI voice assistance, that replaced the traditional Google assistance. However, it will be redefined on MI Mix 3 where a button will be dedicated for triggering its operation.
