It’s surprising to see a new update for Redmi Note 8 arrives at this time. The last update that came with MIUI 11.0.7.0 is still waiting for a global rollout while a new update starts arriving for Beta Teams again. The update is coming with a build number MIUI 11.0.8.0 PCOMIXM, and it’s based on Android Pie still.
As usual, the update comes with bug fixes, system optimization while improving system performance. Meanwhile, users are reporting a new bug that affects the default app lock. The app lock minimize button ceases to function on game turbo but works in split-screen. Also, there’s a network bug, that’s affecting the data sim. When a call comes on the other sim, the phone will lose all internet connectivity. Apart from the above issues, there’s no other bug reported so far.
For now, the new update for Redmi Note 8 update is available for Beta Teams, Mi pilots, and Beta users. It’s after the Beta preview that the update will be released for the public. Meanwhile, it’s an OTA roll out and will take a few days before it gets to all compatible devices. If you’re a Beta ROM user, you might need to scan for a new update from the updater app.
Regarding when the device will get a new OS update, we don’t have an answer for that now. However, a recent report claims the phone is testing the update currently and will soon start arriving on the Chinese variant. After then, it will start arriving for Note 8 Global users and Note 8T. We will surely update you when the update goes live, hopefully in the coming days.
Also, we are still waiting for more feedback, so if you have got on the new update for Redmi Note 8, don’t forget to leave a review for us.
