Xiaomi, at this time, is giving users enough reason not to trust the brand, at least when it comes to Android One smartphone. First, it lacked communication, giving users false hope before the arrival of the Android 10. The update did arrive but was a buggy one and was pulled after tons of complaints.

Mi A3 Update

The company acknowledged the bugs and promised to release a subsequent update that will fix it, but unfortunately, it was only beta users that got the update, which fixed the fingerprint issues and battery drain. Meanwhile, a few days ago, a new Xiaomi Mi A3 update arrived for the global users based on Android 10, but for whatever reason, it got pulled again.

During all these trying times for Mi A3 users, it wasn’t a bed of roses for neither Mi A2 nor the Lite users. The Mi A2 Lite received the worst Android 10 update ever, which left some device dead. Days after the incident, the company released an official statement, promising to roll out a new update this month to fix the reported bugs. However, we are still waiting for a fix.

And just today, a new Xiaomi Mi A3 update started arriving with the March security patch. Unfortunately, the update won’t download, it shows an error message painted in red “couldn’t update installation problem.”

According to a moderator in the Mi community forum, if you’re on Global V11.0.X.0 and received the new Xiaomi Mi A3 update, you should ignore it. The update is for those still running Android 9, and on the device running Android 10, it will return an error.

With that, you should avoid the update, besides 1.3GB for a security patch is rather big, which is another reason not to download. From the screenshot below, it shows the update with just 93.4MB, reasonable for a security update.

Nevertheless, it’s still a big “L” for a company as big as Xiaomi, failing to roll out updates without complications to it’s Android One phones. Many people gave up on their phones already, but if you’re still hanging in there, we will be sure to update you on any developments.
