Xiaomi is now pushing the March security patch for Redmi Note 8 to the Global users. The update already arrived for Beta Team, Mi Pilot, and Beta ROM users in the last few weeks. It seems the preview stage is over and probably no bug was reported, as the update is now available for the Global Stable users.
The update is arriving with a version number MIUI 11.0.8.0 PCOMIXM and weighs 184MB. As usual, it comes with bug fixes, system optimization, and an updated Android security patch. Navigate to updater app and scan for the latest update
March security patch for Redmi Note 8 Changelog
System
- Updated Android Security Patch to March 2020
- Increased System security
The update from the changelog, is basically, a patch build, even the size confirms that as well. It didn’t bring the Android 10 update, but recent reports claim the device to be testing Android 10. Also according to Xiaomi, the next Chinese Beta build for the device will be based on Android 10, along with the Mi CC9E. We expect the update to arrive with next month’s security patch, but there’s still no official time frame yet.

The Redmi Note 8 debuted in August last year with Snapdragon 665 Octa-Core processor. It runs Android Pie outside-of-the-box and still stuck while the Pro variant is already on a new OS. Eyebrows were raised when Xiaomi opted for Mediatek processor over a Qualcomm Chipset because people believe the former don’t get a timely update.
However, the reverse is the case in this situation. The Note 8 Pro already got Android 10 build and still arriving till now. You can follow this link and download the Global Stable Android 10 ROM for your Note 8 Pro.
