The Redmi series is the best Xiaomi smartphone line, not only in India but globally as well. According to the company, they’ve sold a recording-breaking 185,000,000 units globally, with the predecessor of the Note 9, Redmi Note 8, the best selling Android phone in Q4 of last year. All focus is now on the recently unveiled Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, which is making its presence in India for the first time.
While the Redmi Note 8 was good, the Redmi Note 9 is better, edging the former in the latest AnTuTu Benchmark test with a mean score of 209,956 against 205,946. However, it’s only a 2% increase, but for gaming enthusiasts, the Redmi Note 9 is the undisputed champion in that segment for the price.
Interestingly, the device gets a new 6GB RAM version with up to 128GB internal storage and an expandable slot for up to 512GB. Under the hood is the Mediatek Helio G85 Octa-Core processor, which is making it to India for the first time, and promises peak performance.
Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 features a 6.53-inch Full HD+ Dot-Display, protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and P2i water repellent coating. Integrated inside the dot punch hole is a 13MP selfie shooter with face unlock support. Around the back is a Quad-camera arrangement consisting of a primary 48MP shooter, 8MP ultrawide-angle-lens, 2MP autofocus, and 2MP Macro shooter.
Powering the device is a 5020mAh battery and supports a 22.5W fast charging Solution. The charger comes with the package and on a single charge, will deliver 2 days of battery life. For gamers, you’d get 13 hours, 26 hours for video playbacks, and 9 hours of HD video recording.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 will be available in three memory configurations – 4GB + 64GB for INR 11,999, 4GB + 128GB for INR 13,499, and 6GB + 128GB for INR 14,999.
