Xiaomi has come a long way in the last ten years, with the Chinese OEM currently the fourth biggest smartphone marker in the world. One of the outstanding features of Xiaomi phones is the MIUI Android skin, which runs on almost every one of them. Of course, the Mi A-series runs stock Android, and that’s because the series is part of the company’s Android One project, which has been suspended, according to a report.
The Xiaomi MIUI User Interface is one of the best Android skins out there, and it allows you to customize your device down to how you like it. Meanwhile, depending on the customization, you might need to unlock the bootloader, but to change app icon size on Xiaomi Android phones, luckily, the bootloader can remain locked.
When Xiaomi released MIUI 11, a lot of Xiaomi fans complained that the app icon had gotten bigger, which was true. But then, there’s an option in settings that allows you to adjust the Home screen layout and get the app icons smaller or bigger. And now, with the latest feature that has been added to the MIUI system launcher, you can now change the app icon size to any of these: XS, S, M, L, or XL.
How to change app icon size on Xiaomi Android phones
- Step 1. Head over to your device settings
- Step 2. Navigate to Home screen
- Step 3. Click on the Icon size
- Step 4. Select your preferred app icon size from the available options.
Note: the feature was introduced by the latest system app launcher update, hence if you can’t find the option in settings, you should update the launcher. Also, if you’re making use of a third-party launcher, you won’t be able to make use of the app icon resize feature on your Xiaomi phone.
