When Xiaomi announced the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro at the beginning of the year, it was obvious not everyone could afford them. The reason was very simple, the price tag. For the very first time, the Xiaomi flagship phone clocked the $1000 mark, although you get the device a lot cheaper in China. However, the company was aware of that, which is the reason they released the Mi 10 Lite — an affordable alternative to the premium Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro.
The device is the rebadge Mi 10 Youth, exclusive for the Chinese market, and has already received the MIUI 12 update a couple of weeks ago. It was expected that at some stage, the Mi 10 Lite users are going to receive the update as well, and now those units in Europe are beginning to receive the update.
The MIUI 12 update for Mi 10 Lite has a version number, MIUI 12.0.2.0 QJIEUXM, and weighs 363MB. It’s the second build, so expect a bigger sized update if you haven’t received it for the first time. Going by the changelog, the new update brings a new camera filter: Black Ice and Lime, and a special lock screen effect for the fingerprint scanner. The security patch level has been updated as well, now dates August 2020.
The update a stable build, but will first arrive for selected users in case of any serious bug. And if everything goes smoothly, the general public can start getting the update in a few days. Aside from the Super Wallpaper, which you can manually activate here, other MIUI 12 features are coming along with the build. They include DarK Mode, Enhanced Privacy, Floating Windows, New camera Functions, Unify Font, Revamped System UI, and New System Animation.
