On December 31, Xiaomi started rolling out a stable Android 11 update to the Mi A3 users. What was expected to be a perfect Christmas gift for the device users turned into chaos. Naturally, Xiaomi Android One updates are always a mess, especially the OS upgrades, but the recent one was the height of it all. Early last year, when the company upgraded Mi A2 Lite to Android 10, it bricked the device for some people. However, for Mi A3 users, everybody that installed the update was left with a dead phone (hard brick).

Xiaomi, as usual, acknowledged what happened and promised to work on a fix. But it would not be impossible to fix a hard bricked device with an OTA update, and hence, the best option would be to send the device to the Mi service center. Xiaomi is yet to officially communicate that the device should be taken to their service centers, but a user just had his Xiaomi Mi A3 revived.

Going by what he posted on Facebook “Thank God…MiA3 was successfully revived by Mi service center today, and all data intact…” It’s good to know that no data was lost, but how about those in a region where there are no Mi service centers. Hopefully, the company would communicate how the Xiaomi Mi A3 can be revived manually.

Meanwhile, as we wait for Xiaomi to release an official statement, it’s good to know that someone has had his Xiaomi Mi A3 revived. However, we don’t know if he was charged for that or not, but maybe you can find out via the source link. And going by the screenshot posted, the phone is running a stable Android 11, and since none of the device data went missing, it means the device wasn’t wiped. It’s then a piece of good news that there’s a way the Xiaomi Mi A3 can be revived without wiping the data.
