Xiaomi, in the space of one week, has pushed three OTA updates to the Mi 11. The latest stable update for Mi 11, which arrived with a version number, MIUI 12.0.17.0 RKBCNXM, seems to have finally fixed all the problems that resulted in multiple OTAs in quick succession.
The Xiaomi Mi 11 debuted on December 28 in China and has remained there ever since. It’s the first Xiaomi phone to ship without a charger inside the box. Although the company offered the charger on request, many people already purchased the 65W GaN charger that sold separately and hence didn’t request the charger.
Unfortunately, some people purchased a particular batch of the charger, which is not compatible with the Mi 11. According to a report, on connecting the charger, the device will reboot and enter an endless loop cycle.
Xiaomi acknowledged the issue in a Weibo post. It said a specific model and batch of the charger has compatibility issues and hence the problem, but promised to roll out a fix via OTA update. And after two attempts, the latest stable update for Mi 11 has supposedly fixed the issue.
The update also fixed the problem with the virtual AB partition restarting abnormally, which caused the OTA startup to fail. Noise that could be heard when the screen is turned off in some cases and the low-probability splash screen problem has been fixed. The individual apps, which before this update had unresponsive problems due to abnormal memory allocation, has been optimized.
