With the Redmi Note 10 series now available in the market, it means the Redmi Note 5 series has been around for a long while. The device is eligible for the MIUI 12 update and has since received the build but on a limited rollout. The first phase of the build was released back in January, and after some weeks, the company started a wider rollout. Unfortunately, it was called back due to some bugs that made the device go into the boot loop. Although no one reported the issue, it was enough reason for Xiaomi to suspend the rollout. Meanwhile, according to a Moderator in the Mi Community forum, Xiaomi is pushing the MIUI 12 update for the Redmi Note 5 Pro again. It is on a limited rollout, though.
What it means is that only a few selected users are going to receive the update for now. They’ll preview the build and probably see if the boot loop issues have been fixed. We hope so and if that’s the case, then expect the public rollout to commence in the coming days. However, if you want to try out the build, we have the Recovery ROM below. You can download and install manually, but most times, it returns an error. When that happens, you should give flashing the ROM some time or wait for the OTA to arrive.
As per if the device will receive the MIUI 12.5 update, we don’t see a chance of that happening. Anyway, Xiaomi knows how to surprise their fans, and we won’t be surprised if they decide to roll out another iteration of MIUI to the Redmi Note 5 Pro. And to stay updated with the MIUI 12.5 update, you should follow our tracker. We frequently update the tracker to reflect all news and Xiaomi phones that have received the update.
