Did you experience random reboots after upgrading to POCO X3 NFC Android 11?

The reason OTAs are pushed in batches is to limit any damage in case things go south. For Xiaomi, they tag the first batch “beta stable.” It only arrives for Mi Pilot for preview, and if everything goes as planned, developers will then start rolling out the “stable” version of the update to the public. But as things stand now, it may take a while before Xiaomi starts rolling out the stable version of the POCO X3 NFC Android 11 update.

According to reports from the POCO and Mi community, the Android 11 update that was rolled out a few weeks ago is causing a random reboot. Xiaomi, knowing that something like this can happen, has stuck with their pattern of rolling out all major updates: limited users for preview before a wider rollout. Now, those that received the update are complaining of random reboots even with the phone sitting idle. However, it seems not everyone that upgraded is facing the said issue. From the thread on the Mi community, those that did a factory reset after upgrading to Android 11 on their POCO X3 NFC have their phone working perfectly.

Luckily, there is a way to temporarily fix the random reboot pending when the next OTA will be released. That’ll probably permanently fix the issue, but you have to backup your data and perform a factory reset. Also, you can clear the device storage cache to fix this issue, but you’ll need a third-party app. The app is known as Activity Launcher, and you can install it from the Play store via this link.

After downloading the launcher app, you should head over to settings and search for Storage. Tap on it, and you’ll be redirected to the cleaner app from where you can clear the device cache. Of course, it’s a temporary workaround but worked for those that have tried it. If that’s doesn’t work for you, the only option would be to wait for the next stable update.
