It has been a busy two days for Xiaomi with their Mega launch, but that hasn’t stopped the software update releases. They’ve even started the rollout of MIUI 12.5 update, a couple of days ahead of schedule. Unfortunately, the update is only live in China for now and has been rolled out to the Mi 10 Ultra and Mi 11. It will get to the Mi 10i much later, but you’ll have to upgrade to Android 11 first. That’s to say that Xiaomi has released the much anticipated Android 11 update for the Mi 10i.
Recall that the Mi 10i is a rebadged Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G that debuted in China last year. It’s also a reworked Mi 10T Lite, that has already started receiving the Android 11 build. The same update arrived for the Note 9 Pro 5G a couple of days ago. And now, those in India are reporting getting the Android 11 build. The update is tagged Stable Beta, meaning that only Mi Pilot (Beta testers) will receive the update for preview. Naturally, it’s going to last for a few days, after which the public rollout will commence. And hopefully, no bug will be detected as the rollout might be delayed.
Meanwhile, the update appears to be free from any form of bugs, according to the official Mi 10i group on Telegram. Those that have installed the update claim it is safe and that their device works fine. Below is the first impression of the Android 11 update for the Mi 10i.
