Perhaps, the idea that Mediatek powered devices don’t get updates on time might be true. Xiaomi has already upgraded a good number of its phones to Android 11, but those running Mediatek chips are yet to be upgraded. It’s not just Redmi Note 8 Pro, the Redmi K30 Ultra
The new stable Redmi Note 8 Pro update means that Android 11 isn’t ready yet. At least for the global models since the Chinese version hasn’t been released. The update is hitting eligible Global and European stable ROM users. It’s a security patch update to bump the Android security level to April 2021 and increase system security and stability.
The package weighs in at 136MB and has a version number – MIUI 12.0.8.0 QGGMIXM, globally. In Europe, the new stable Redmi Note 8 Pro update is available as MIUI 12.0.5.0 QGGEUXM. Both builds bring the April security patch to increase system security, stability, and performance.
Meanwhile, as for when Android 11 will start rolling out, there’s currently no ETA. It seems it will arrive alongside MIUI 12.5, and hence, you should keep an eye on our tracker page for every new information.
