The POCO F3 is the latest addition to Xiaomi phones that have received MIUI 12.5 updates. That was expected after the Mi 11X grabbed the update some days and with Redmi K40 also running the new MIUI OS. Of course, the trio is essentially the same phone that is sold under different monikers. The Redmi K40 is for the Chinese market, while the Mi 11X is exclusive to Indians. As for the POCO F3, it can only be purchased in the global market. All debuted running Android 11 on top of MIUI 12, which unsurprisingly have some frustrating bugs.
Xiaomi’s in-house Android skin has some issues which the company promised to fix with MIUI 12.5. That’s also affecting the POCO F3, of course, as the device runs MIUI on top of Android. Some of these issues include proximity sensor not working, screen flickering, tint, screen touch issues, notification bug, and third-party launcher incompatibility. Meanwhile, before the POCO F3 MIUI 12.5 update started rolling out, the company already rolled out updates fixing some known bugs.
Unfortunately, most bugs have persisted, but it seems the proximity sensor issue has been addressed. However, third-party launchers are still not compatible even after upgrading to MIUI 12.5, and hence, you’ll keep using system launchers. But the POCO F3 MIUI 12.5 update, giving the changes it brought, promises to improve performance.
Meanwhile, the update at the time of this writing is available in Russia and Indonesia. They’re stable releases, meaning you’ll soon receive a prompt notification for a new update, or use the links below to download. In Russia, the update is seeding as MIUI 12.5.1.0 RKHRUXM, while those in Indonesia are receiving a stable MIUI 12.5.1.0 RKHIDXM update.
