Surprisingly, the latest Redmi Note 8 Pro update in Europe fails to bring either Android 11 or MIUI 12.5. Both builds were expected to arrive simultaneously after the Chinese release a couple of days ago. However, it seems Xiaomi is yet to address the Android 11 adoption issues for the global models as yet another disappointing start rolling out in Europe. That means users in that region, at least, will have to wait for few weeks before they could upgrade to the latest iteration of MIUI.
There’s no doubt that Redmi Note 8 Pro will receive both Android 11 and MIUI 12.5 update simultaneously, but so far, it seems the update isn’t available for the global unit. The Chinese variants received both builds a couple of days ago to hint at imminent global release, but with the look of things, the rollout seems far. That’s because of that latest Redmi Note 8 Pro stable update in Europe sans both. It only pushes the Android security patch level to May 2021 to increase system security and stability.
However, this is probably the last Redmi Note 8 Pro update before MIUI 12.5 starts seeding. Xiaomi needs time to fix the Android 11 adaptability issues, and hopefully, they did that with this current build. And if that’s the case, it means the next update for the device will ring the much-anticipated Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 update.
