Xiaomi will introduce its next iteration of MIUI in August. Some features of the upcoming Android skin have already been seeded to closed beta testers in China, with stable ROM users expected to receive it with MIUI 13. We have seen some of it, which are improvements to address some issues left by MIUI 12. The company is currently integrating what they call ‘Balanced and Performance’ mode to address the heating issues faced by most Xiaomi users. However, the latest feature is different from what we have seen. It seems MIUI 13 will introduce a new control center.
According to a new leak coming out of Weibo, MIUI 13, which will launch in China in August, will allegedly introduce a new control center. If the latest leak is true, it will be only a few tweak to integrate some features present on the Mi security app to the control center. From the screenshot above, the new control center will display ‘Location and weather condition, Memory used, daily steps, and others. These will be arranged at the left side of the control center for quick access.
Of course, these are features available on the Chinese branch of MIUI but are displayed on the home screen. However, with the latest development, you can reveal this feature by pulling down the notification panel. That’ll be a welcome development, but only if the leak is legit. And if that’s the case, we expect closed beta testers to receive this feature in the coming days. It’ll probably arrive with a future closed beta update for those in the Chinese branch of MIUI participating in the close beta tests. Hopefully, Global stable ROM users will receive the new control center with MIUI 13.
Again, Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed this feature yet. It’s only a rumor coming from Weibo, and hence, you should treat it as such. We hope to learn more about the new control center in the coming days.
