Xiaomi MIUI Android skin remains the most feature-rich skin out there. They still see room for improvement and have continued to improve. We have seen the release of MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition. Although it didn’t introduce any physical features, it has improved system performance. The new version of MIUI is already rolling out in China, and we anticipate the Global release sometime next month. However, the recent development hasn’t stopped Xiaomi from testing new features for its Android skin. The latest addition is the introduction of a new widget design.
The new widget design arrived with a recent closed beta build but integrated into the App vault and Mi gallery app. It’s Chinese exclusive at the moment. Meanwhile, only those participating in the closed beta tests can enable the feature, which is still under testing. According to Xiaomi, the new widget design will start testing from August 17 to October 20. That means it’s an MIUI 13 feature, and that’s when stable ROM users will receive the new design.
Meanwhile, the new widget design comes in four sizes – 2×2, 4×2, 4×4, 2×3. Interestingly, a new widget store has been added to enable users to design their home screen using the drag and drop method. Also, some apps like clock, weather, and health support the new widget design. But while most Xiaomi phones will receive the new widget design, only a handful of them are eligible now. Perhaps, those participating in closed beta tests with the below phones should get the feature.
