The Redmi 7 was supposed to receive the MIUI 12 update last year but that didn’t happen. Although the Chinese variants bagged the update, it hasn’t still arrived on global models. The device, according to Xiaomi, isn’t compatible with the update and will have its performance affected if upgraded. But how did they manage to upgrade the Chinese version to MIUI 12, which has now received the MIUI 12.5 update? And does that mean Redmi 7 MIUI 12.5 update is on cards for the global users?
The last time an update arrived for the Redmi 7 users was about three months ago. That is supposed to be the last build, given that Xiaomi phones get three years of support. Redmi 7 was released in March 2019, meaning it has elapsed its support period, and with a new update now available in Europe, is there a chance the device will receive the MIUI 12.5 update.
