The Redmi 9T was released early this year after the initial unveiling of the Redmi Note 9 4G in China. It’s also available in India as Redmi 9 Power and currently runs Android 10 on top of MIUI 12. Still running the pre-installed Android OS, the device is eligible for a new OS upgrade, which seems to have been delayed due to bugs.
Xiaomi, a couple of months ago, released the Android 11-based MIUI 12 update for the Redmi 9T. It was a limited rollout to preview the build against bugs, but it never made it to the public. That means a bug was detected, and hence, the company needs time to address it. But that has been months now, and the device seems to be getting updated frequently. Still, it seems the issues haven’t been addressed, and hopefully, this will be the last release before the much anticipated MIUI 12.5 update.
Meanwhile, it’s unclear whether the device will receive both Android 11 and MIUI 12.5 simultaneously. That’s because it has already received the Android 11-based MIUI 12 update. Perhaps, Xiaomi plans to deliver Android 11 with the Enhanced Edition of MIUI 12.5. Either way, we recommend that you download the new Redmi 9T update in Europe to fortify your device ahead of the upgrade.
