POCO F3 – a reworked Redmi K40 for some markets – is currently testing Android 12 based MIUI 13 build. It’s internal testing at the moment, but the device has been cleared to receive Android 12 and MIUI 13 simultaneously. And just before the stable release, a new update is available to fortify the device. It’s the November security patch for POCO F3, but it’s seeding for Mi Pilots at the moment.
Xiaomi will suspend the MIUI development version in the coming days due to “adjustments of the software system architecture.” We believe it’s MIUI 13 that the company is about to introduce, although it has not confirmed the official release date. The only news about that launch date is the rumored December 16, but we hope to learn more about that in the coming days. Luckily, the Redmi K40 / POCO F3 will be the first few phones to receive the update, and it will be based on Android 12.
With the recent development, it seems Xiaomi will start seeding its latest MIUI with the current Android version. And if that’s the case, we expect the POCO F3 Android 12 update to arrive in the coming weeks, and hence, we recommend that you download and install the November security patch for POCO F3.
The update is seeding with a version number – MIUI 12.5.7.0 RKHEUXM – in Europe and MIUI 12.5.5.0 RKHMIXM globally. It weighs 305MB and 198MB, respectively. However, if you haven’t installed the Enhanced Edition of MIUI 12.5, you’ll get a bigger size package.
