The Redmi Note 11 series might have just arrived in the international markets, but it has been over five months since Xiaomi debuted the device in China. And hence, it’s not surprising that the Chinese company is already working on the successor – Redmi Note 12. Of course, there will be multiple variants, but only two models have been spotted on TENAA.
According to the TENAA listing, Xiaomi will soon launch two devices under the Redmi Note 12 moniker. Both phones will sport a 6.6-inch display, probably an AMOLED panel, as we have seen in the past couple of years. The variant with a model number 22041216C will have a 4980mAh (rate value) battery capacity, while the 22041216UC will have a 4300mAh (rated value) battery. Interestingly, both measure 163.64 x 74.29 x 8.8mm, which is the same size as the Redmi Note 11.
These alleged Redmi Note 12 series phones have also appeared on CMIIT (China Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. They appeared on the certification website with the same model numbers, meaning the phones could soon launch.
Features of Redmi Note 12 series phones
There is only a little information about the devices. It is expected to debut with a MediaTek processor, believed to be the Dimensity 8000. The duo will run Android 12 outside of the box, and hopefully based on MIUI 13. We haven’t heard anything about the camera configurations and the design, but with the dimension, it might not be far from Redmi Note 11 design language. Hopefully, we’ll learn more about he device in the coming months.
Of course, the device will arrive in China first but is expected to be available in multiple regions. As usual, POCO will rebadge these phones, which might debut as POCO X4 GT and POCO X4 GT HyperCharge. Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 12 series phones that have made their way to certification websites are allegedly the Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus.
