A lot of tweaks about the Big G have been flying around recently. Sources discovered the details of the next generation of Pixel phones, the Pixel 7 series, and also a tipster, Evan Brass, had tipped us about the new Google Pixel watch with the internal code name Pixel Rohan. Now the Google Android 14 coming in 2023 has gotten an internal code name.
Google is fond of giving major Android releases fun code names just like the Android 9 with codename Pie and the Android 10 Oreo. Most of these codenames are themed after a dessert. Though there was a year when there wasn’t any dessert to rhyme with Android Q, the company later settled with Queen’s cake as the codename for the Android release then.
The practice of giving Android release dessert codenames continued as the Android 12 and Android 13(coming out later this year) got a Snow Cone and Timarisu respectively. However, prior to the release of the Google 13, Android Open Source Project posted a new code change that says the Google Android 14 coming in 2023 bears a codename of an “Upside-down cake”.
What do we expect from the Google Android 14 coming in 2023?
We don’t know much about Android 14 since we still expect its release by 2023. But we don’t see any other improvements from the ones we have gotten on Android 13. We expect the usual privacy and security upgrades and probably the phone customization option and the support for eSims which is already present in the Android 13. Till then, the Google Android 14 coming in 2023 remains in a grey area.
