Xiaomi is still rolling out the stable MIUI 13 update to eligible users, but we understand the company is already working on the next iteration. It will be a point upgrade (MIUI 13.5) and will focus on system improvement and stability. The upcoming update will bring a few changes, some already available for closed beta testers in China. There is a new introduction with the latest MIUI Alpha update –Animation Rate, probably one of the features of MIUI 13.5.
The MIUI Alpha launcher is a beta version of the Xiaomi launcher exclusive to Chinese users. It recently updated to V4.27.0.4733-04271903 and introduced what Xiaomi calls Animation Rate. That basically improves the speed of opening and closing apps. With the new introduction, there are three options to choose from for the best experience.
Xiaomi indeed improved stability with the MIUI 13 upgrade, but operations became slow, although most people have improved their device performance with a factory reset. The company is working on making MIUI faster and smoother and perhaps the reason for Animation Rate. Unfortunately, it’s only available to select users and gives you three options – Elegance, Balance, and Minimalist.
How Animation Rate works on MIUI
According to reports, the new introduction has improved the speed of launching and closing apps, but it’s hard to tell the difference. However, we understand the last option on the drop-down – Minimalist launches your app the fastest, while Elegance takes a bit longer to do the same. Of course, the Balance option keeps a balance between the other two options.
It’s unclear whether any of these options will affect battery life. That’s likely, and we hope to get more details on that in the coming days. Meanwhile, you can install the latest MIUI Alpha Launcher and check under Settings >>Home screen>>Animation Rate.
