Google announces Android 13 for Tablets

With OEMs like Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, and Realme now competing in the Tablet market, Google perhaps sees it as an opportunity to optimize Android Os for Tablets. The company, during the I/O 2022, announced some changes coming to big screen devices with Android 13 for Tablets.

Android 13 OS for Tablets

Google is focusing on improving users’ experience with Android 13 for Tablets and will be looking to improve multitasking. There’ll be a revamp UI while the giant tech company promises to integrate Taskbar. Yes, Android 13 for Tablets will arrive with a Taskbar, which will give it a Chromebook look. The company also proposed an update notification share.

Other features coming with Android 13 for Tablets

Google will bring with Android 13 for Tablets – drag and drop feature. That allows moving an image from the gallery to a messaging app by dragging and dropping them. Of course, that’ll work on a split-screen. Interestingly, the split-screen is integrated into the notification panel. When revealed, notifications and quick settings are housed differently.

Interestingly, Google will optimize its apps for Tablets. Unfortunately, the company didn’t reveal the list of apps it’s improving, but YouTube Music, Google Maps, Google Photos, Play Store, and Google TV will get some improvement.

Aside from Google apps, third-party apps like TikTok, Facebook, Zoom, and Canva will be getting an update to improve their experience on Tablets. The company also said it’s working on making it easy to discover Tablet-focused apps on its Play store.
