Samsung, one of the leading smartphone brands, has taken the lead ahead of Google when it comes to rolling out security patch updates. The South Korean tech giant usually releases a new patch one week before a new month. Interestingly, the company is now seeding the June 2022 security patch, 11 days before a new month.
According to reports, the June 2022 security patch update started rolling out last Friday for the Galaxy Tab S7 Plus 5G. That’s another twist, as it has been the premium Galaxy S22 series phones that usually receive the update first. And while we expect the rollout to start for the phones in the coming days, Galaxy Tab S7 Plus 5G users can check for a new update via system updates.
The June 2022 security patch update is available in Europe. It has a firmware version T976BXXU2CVE5, and it is available in most European countries, including Austria, France, the UK, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, and more. We expect the update to extend to other regions in the coming days, but you can still check updates.
At the time of writing, it’s unclear the security and privacy vulnerabilities that were patched with the latest release, given that Google is yet to release the June 2022 security patch bulletin. However, the update has improved security and performance, fixed bugs, and probably introduced new features.
