The next generation of the Pixel phones, the Google Pixel 7 series has been getting a lot of attention following a few details that surfaced about the smartphone. Some details of the Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro display have surfaced online.
The Pixel 7 and 7 Pro display seems to resemble its predecessor Pixel 6 in a way but with some enhancements of course. The upcoming flagship series is said to feature a 120 Hz screen refresh rate, which is an upgrade from the 90Hz of its predecessor.
While there have been a few rumours about the Pixel 7 series, The Big G hasn’t revealed any other details of the Pixel 7 and 7 pro display, talk less of its internal hardware or even what the front of the phone looks like. However, sources discovered a code in the Android Open Source which expatiates on the kind of displays to expect in the upcoming flagship.
Pixel 7 and 7 Pro display specifications
According to what was discovered, Google makes use of two new display drivers which the company tags “C10” and “P10”, which are the codenames “Cheetah” and “Panther” shorthand versions respectively. This discovery has helped to get more clear information on the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro display.
The vanilla version gets a 1080×2400 display capable of running 90Hz, while the Pro counterpart gets a 1440×3120 display capable of running 120Hz. These display specs aren’t strange as it is what is seen in the Pixel 6 series.
Furthermore, the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro display panels are the usual Samsung S6E3FC3 and S6E3HC3 respectively as seen in the code. Even if there is still no improvement in this aspect, the Pixel 7’s display is 1mm narrower and 2mm shorter than the Pixel 6.
The Pixel 7 pro display isn’t any different from the Pixel 6 Pro, instead, there is an added 1080p to help battery life which other phone brands have adopted. Although the Pixel 7 series display isn’t any new from the previous Pixel 6, a lot is still expected from the smartphone in other aspects.
