A lot of expectations from the Big G on it’s soon to debut devices. The Pixel 7 series expected sometime in Q4 2022 is said to house the next generation of Tensor chipsets. However, these were just rumors and were taken with a pinch of salt. Now, Google Tensor 2 chipset which is the successor of the Tensor chipset, has come into the limelight.
A lot of thinking has been done by the company to come up with the name of the next Tensor Chipset. After a lot of thoughts, they came up with Google Tensor 2 chipset, although there are still some hidden decisions taken about the new chipset at the Googleplex.
Details of the tentative Google Tensor 2 chipset
It seems the Big G and the Korean tech giant, Samsung are going to work together to come up with the Tensor 2. Samsung Foundry will be taken charge of its production using the 4nm process node. So which means we should be getting a very efficient processor because the smaller the size, the more powerful the transistor is.
The 4nm process to be used on Google Tensor 2 chipset is not strange as that’s what was used on the Galaxy S22 lineup driver, Exynos 2200. Also, Samsung makes use of the 4nm process to build the just debuted Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
Any upgrades?
There is an expected upgrade in the Google Tensor 2 chipset’s processing unit, that’s an increase in the audio as well as image processing using the Chip’s AI capabilities. We’ll still keep an eye out for more tweaks to the new Google Chipset, however, it is very likely the Google Pixel 7 will house thus processor as said earlier.
