The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL did not get the June 2022 feature drop from the Big G probably because the phone was released 4 years ago. However the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL latest update has brought voice over LTE roaming to the smartphone, quite generous from the Big G.
All 3G networks have been switched off in the US and Google confirmed this statement following the impact of the shutdown. “In June 2022, Google released a software update that enabled VOLTE roaming for many U.S. and global carriers. This allows many Pixel devices to roam in the U.S. with VOLTE if your carrier supports VoLTE roaming. Contact your carrier for more information”.
The VoLTE roaming is already available on the premium flagship devices and now the feature is coming in via the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL latest update. Although Google has not tweaked the factory image repository to match the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL latest update, 9to5google obtained the OTA update as well as the factory images.
What do we get from the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL latest update
The VoLTE roaming is a gift from the Big G but it comes with a little shortcoming unsurprisingly. By unsurprisingly we mean, the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL remain on SP1A different from the SQ1A, SQ3A and SP2A released to the higher lineup. The feature should be made available to these smartphones now, however, if you haven’t gotten it you should be patient as it will soon get to your device
