The Snapdragon lineup has been upgraded given the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 from last year and the Plus version from this year with the expectation of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 very soon. The brand also boosted the mid-tier Snapdragon 7 series with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 and now it seems the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 will be coming soon.
Details of Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC
We are still expecting the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 on Android OEMs but the higher lineup has been seen on a couple of smartphones. Unlike the higher lineup and mid-tier Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 series, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 is friendly on budget while offering interesting feats.
Precisely named the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 moniker, the chipset is based on a 4nm manufacturing process and it features a 2.2GHz CPU. The chipset will be coming in with Adreno GPU although we don’t know the exact GPU. The numbers of the CPU and GPU cores are unknown as well.
Some of the impressive features include Snapdragon X62 modern-RF system, sub-6GHz and mmwave support, 12GB LPDDR5 RAM clocked at 2750MHZ, Bluetooth 5.2 support as well as UFS 3.1 storage.
The Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset makes sure to bring high-end features to budget-friendly devices so they can get a premium feel on the smartphones. Smooth feel thanks to the 120Hz FHD+ display and fast charge thanks to Quick charge 4 Plus all available on this chip.
The chipset has support for a 13MP triple camera setup or 25 MP and 16MP dual camera setup or a 48MP single camera setup. What’s more exciting is that the chip offers 4K HDR video capture, quite interesting. Well, we haven’t heard any official announcement from the brand as regards this chip but we guess that it should be coming to the limelight sometime in November alongside the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
