The Korean tech giant has decided to equip Android tabs with new updates bringing in interesting features. By that we mean, the Galaxy Tab S8 Android 12L OneUI 4.1.1 update is now available.
This update has been long rolled out to the foldables, that is, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4. The Galaxy Tab S8 Android 12L update is available on the Tab S8, S8+, and S8 Ultra with firmware versions X70xBXXU2AVH5, X80xBXXU2AVH5, and X90xBXXU2AVH5 respectively.
Features of the Galaxy Tab S8 Android 12L update
“What’s new this year is support for Android 12L, Google’s initiative to bolster the Android operating system on larger screens. On the Galaxy Z Fold 4, that’s felt with the taskbar, a bottom-mounted row of apps that you can quickly switch between, or drag into split-screen multitasking. It works wonderfully, and can easily be minimized by just long-pressing on the gesture bar. Samsung even slightly boosts Google’s implementation by adding an app drawer”
So the Tab being a large screen as well, the Galaxy Tab S8 Android 12L update will be bringing in all the features from the Fold 4. Sources pointed the features out to be the bottom-mounted taskbar, the two-finger swipe screen gesture to switch between split-screen apps and full-screen views as well as tweaks to the My Files app among many others.
Users in South Korea and some parts of Europe can proceed to download the Galaxy Tab S8 Android 12L update as it is available in those regions. It will be rolled out to more regions in the long run and possibly to the other Galaxy Tablets since the improvements work well with large screens.
