There are many features of the Mac that can be extremely helpful, but sometimes they can be more trouble than they’re worth. Mac computers come with a feature called auto correct that automatically suggest corrections for spelling and grammar errors as you type.

Mac’s autocorrect feature works by using a list of spellings and corrections from an extensive internal dictionary, to automatically correct your spellings and grammars as you type. It is a handy tool that can help you avoid spelling errors in your emails, documents, and other text. When you type a word that is not in the dictionary, autocorrect will automatically correct it for you.

You can also adjust the autocorrect settings to suit your needs. For example, you can choose to have autocorrect automatically capitalize the first letter of a sentence, or you can add words to the autocorrect dictionary.

That said, if you find that you’re constantly having to correct the auto-correct feature, it might be time to turn it off. This is a quick guide on how to turn off autocorrect on your Mac computer.

How to Turn Off Autocorrect on Mac Computer

1. First, open the System Preferences. You can launch this from the Application toolbar. You can also do a “Spotlight Search” for it, by pressing the “Command” + the space bar button, then entering “System Preferences”  into the search bar.
