While we are enjoying the best photo and video quality yet on Pixel(from the Google Pixel 7 series), Google is planning to integrate a lot of features in the next generation of Pixel, Google Pixel 8 series. The Google Pixel 8 Pro cameras will be designed for better Night Sight shots.

Night Sight

How better will Night Sight shots with Google Pixel 8 Pro be

Version 8.8 of the Google Camera app was released to the Play Store over the weekend. Google has placed some of the first details for the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro in the app’s code. We’re still gathering information on what’s new for Google’s forthcoming flagships, but along the road, we discovered a new feature that will be exclusive to the Pixel 8 Pro.

According to what we can tell, the “Multi-camera Super Res Zoom” function appears to be referred to in the code as “Hawk” and “FusionZoom.” Google is increasing when this particular Hawk variant of Super Res Zoom may be utilized, enabling it for Night Sight images, in a move exclusive to the Pixel 8 Pro.

In practice, the basic approach should be roughly identical, with both camera sensors taking the same photo over time. Once you’ve taken the two photographs, Google Camera should effortlessly blend them into a single Night Sight (or even astrophotography) shot with even more information than you had previously.

Given that Google has enhanced Night Sight in some manner every year since its debut on the Pixel 3, it’s not surprising to see the firm investing in low-light photography once more. Nonetheless, it will be interesting to observe how Google’s machine learning handles combining long-exposure photographs vs those captured in well-lit settings.
