The latest Google Camera 8.8 was unveiled recently and it packs quite a punch – interesting features. We are still in the process of digging out more features as sources have discovered that the update adjusts the Pixel 7 Pro zoom bar.

The Pixel 7 Pro zoom bar has always been different from that of other Google Pixel smartphones. The comparison below(via 9to5google) shows the Pixel 6’s rather simple UI (left). It’s a circle scrubber head (with the precise increment) on a line.

The Pixel 7/Pro features a more sophisticated UI (middle), replacing the line with an oblong pill that displays the available and min/max increments with dots. With an extremely huge circle above, Google Camera notes the current zoom level. The container consumes the digits because they are too tiny.

Google Camera 8.8 employs line/tick marks resembling ruler markings and even markings on an actual DSLR lens. Meanwhile, with Dynamic Color theming, the current zoom level is bigger and no longer encased in a circle.

More than the Pixel 7 Pro zoom bar adjustment

Before the Pixel 7 Pro zoom bar adjustment was noticed, sources discovered that the software update brought in a Night Sight feature.

Google advertises Night Sight photographs as having reduced motion blur since exposures may be half as long as previously, which was first introduced for the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro. The business attributes the improvement to updates to HDR+ with Bracketing and new ML algorithms to minimize noise.

“And Night Sight now only needs half of the normal exposure time to produce beautiful low-light images that are sharper than before.” Well, the Google Camera version 8.8 brings in the Pixel 7 Pro zoom bar adjustment, and the Night Sight feature hasn’t been rolled out to the Play store widely. Hopefully, it will be rolled out fully in the coming weeks.
