Samsung screen mirroring now supports Chromecast and Android Tv

A recent milestone has been crossed for the Korean tech giant, Samsung as Samsung screen mirroring now supports Chromecast and Android Tv. Although we’ve got larger screens on smartphones these days, there are some views(of things generally) that just feel different on big screens.

Screen casting is incorporated into Samsung’s OneUI (named Smart View), although it only works with Miracast devices like Samsung TVs and Rokus. Fortunately, the recent discovery of a labs menu hidden under OneUI modifies things and provides some new capabilities to experiment with. Individuals at Androidpolice tried testing the Samsung screen mirroring on Galaxy S23 and Fold 4 but we haven’t gotten any news from them yet. Meanwhile, how do you enable Samsung screen mirroring?

How to enable Samsung screen mirroring

1. Long-press the Smart View tile after dragging down your fast settings.

2. Open settings by tapping the three-dot symbol in the upper right corner.

3. Navigate to the About Smart View option at the bottom of the screen.

4. Quickly tap 10 times on the Smart View section of the screen.

5. When asked, provide the following password: #00rtsp00

6. When the developer settings menu appears, toggle on the Google Cast option.

After that, you can return to your fast settings, hit on Smart View, and view all of your Chromecast, Android TV, and Google TV devices. The developer menu is only accessible by repeating the preceding steps, so if you want to play about in there, make a note of the password. I’d also be cautious not to change any other settings until you’re sure what you’re doing. Fortunately, once you activate Google Cast, it will remain enabled.
