Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi Pro have been on pre-order since their debut on October 26, 2023, in China. The duo remains exclusive to the Chinese market, with the international release expected next year. As expected, the devices went on their official first flash sales today, and it was only a few minutes before all units sold out.
Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro are the first phones to feature the recently released Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. It was always going to receive a warm welcome, given that users would want to see the performance of the new processor first-hand. However, the first flash sale of the duo has exceeded expectations as it breaks the previous record held by the Xiaomi 13 series.
According to Xiaomi’s official Weibo post, the latest flagship phones saw six times more sales in five minutes compared to the Xiaomi 13 series. Interestingly, within four hours, all allocated Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro units for the sale were sold out. Xiaomi organized the flash sale on China’s major retail stores, which include Tmall, Jungdong Mall, Douyin, and Kuaishou.
Unfortunately, the total number of units that were up for sale wasn’t mentioned, meaning it’s hard to say how much Xiaomi made in sales. Hopefully, Xiaomi will release the details later. Meanwhile, you can grab the device from AliExpress without waiting for the global release, but you pay $719 for the base Xiaomi 14.
Xiaomi 14 starts at CNY 3,999 ($546) in China, while the Xiaomi 14 Pro starts at CNY 4,999 ($683). If you decide to order from AliExpress, you would be spending way more, but that would probably be the price when the device arrives on the global market.
