Samsung is currently rolling out the One UI 6.1 update, but there is no doubt that they are already working on One UI 7. The Korean tech company will release the latter later in the year based on Android 15, which is currently in beta. As usual, some features of the next iteration of One UI have surfaced: Battery health.

Samsung battery health feature

Starting with the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung promised Android update support for seven years. Since batteries degrade with time, it’s necessary to know when they need replacing, as seven years is a long time. For someone who charges his phone once every day, that’s 2,555 charging cycles.

According to reports, battery backup starts dropping from 400 to 500 cycles. It is a good idea to introduce the battery health page so that people can always glance at it to know when their battery needs replacing. Samsung is finally on course for the introduction. The battery health feature will evaluate your battery health and display the remaining capacity in percentage just like on the iPhone.

Meanwhile, One UI 7 still has a long way to go before it enters the beta stage. However, we expect Samsung to start testing after the May 2024 I/O event. We will learn more about the battery health feature for Samsung phones and how it differs from that on iOS.
