[Updated] First Global Xiaomi Android 15 devices

A new Global Xiaomi Android 15 build is available for download below…

Google is on course to release stable Android 15 to eligible Pixel phones and AOSP in October. The tech company achieved platform stability for the upcoming OS with Android beta 3. Developers are now testing their apps to avoid compatibility issues with Android 15. OEMs are previewing the build with their Android skin, and Xiaomi is no exception.

Global Xiaomi Android 15

The Chinese tech company already released the Android 15-based HyperOS update in China for a few phones. As expected, the global Xiaomi Android 15 phones are now available, and it’s not surprising that only three units are testing the upcoming OS upgrade.

Xiaomi has limited the Global Android 15 phones to 3 – Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi 13T Pro, and Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro 12.4. They will probably open the testing for more phones in the future. Only those using the mentioned units can follow the procedure below and install the Android 15 beta 1 update.

How to install the Global Xiaomi Android 15 build

Xiaomi has made upgrading to Android 15 easy, as you can flash the ROM via the Recovery method. However, ensure you are running the below build to avoid errors while installing the update.

  • Xiaomi 14: OS.0.11.0.UNCMIXM or higher.
  • Xiaomi 13T Pro: OS1.0.3.0.UMLMIXM or higher.
  • Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro 12.4: OS1.0.1.0.UNXMIXM or higher.

Note that the upgrade will erase all your data. Ensure you backup your data first before attempting the installation. Meanwhile, before proceeding, you need the Android 15 beta 1 ROM. You can download that below.

  • Download Android 15 beta 1 for Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi 13T Pro and Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro 12.4
  • Move the ROM to your phone storage and proceed with the installation.
  • Of course, you should be a developer to flash the ROM successfully. Go to settings>>About phone>>tap on the OD version until you see “You are now a developer.”
  • Head to settings>>About phone>>Tap on the system icon>>Click the three dots at the top right corner>>Select Choose update package. Choose the right ROM and your device will start upgrading.

Interestingly, Xiaomi has provided ROM In case you want to flash back to Android 14. You can check the source link for the installation guide. Also, those who wish to install the Xiaomi Android 15 update via Fastboot should check the link.

Update: July 22, 2024

Google might have released the Android 15 beta 4 update, but Xiaomi phones are only getting the Android 15 beta 2. The build is exclusive to three phones, though we expect a wider availability in the coming days. Nevertheless, if you want to preview the Android 15 build on your Xiaomi phone, you can download it from here.
