Android 15 to allow manual charging limit

Google is working on Android 15, and we already know the features coming with the update. With Android 15 beta 3, the upcoming Android OS reached platform stability. As expected, a new update was released yesterday, and it seems Google is not done with their optimizations, given the new hint indicating a manual charging limit.

Google has employed many software features in the past to improve battery performance. In 2020, the tech company introduced adaptive charging. The idea is to hold the battery at 80% and slowly charge it to 100% before the user’s alarm goes off. It has been reprogrammed to follow a charging pattern, which they believe is more useful to users.

While the feature has been working well, except recent reports suggesting otherwise, the company is expected to add a manual charging limit with Android 15. The idea is to allow users to set the charging limit to 80%, a move that will help those who leave their devices plugged in for days.

We understand this feature doesn’t exist on Pixel phones yet but detected by Mishaal Rahman on the Android 15 beta 4 update. There’s a chance it will debut with the upcoming update, given where Google will locate the feature. According to Android Authority, users can access it under Settings>>Battery>>Charging Optimization.

It has been detected under the SystemUI App, but unclear when the Charging optimization page will be available for everyone. Android Authority believes we won’t see the new addition until the Android 15 QPR since Android 15 is nearing a stable build. You can follow our social media platforms to know when the page goes live and whether Google will add other manual charging limit options.
