While testing is underway for the next Android OS based on HyperOS 2.0, a minor upgrade is being rolled out to prepare eligible Xiaomi phones for a seamless upgrade. The HyperOS 1.5 update started rolling out a few days ago, and as expected, more phones are getting the update.
Xiaomi HyperOS 1.5 update first arrived for the Xiaomi 11 Ultra. It has since been released for more devices across the globe. The update improves app performance by optimizing memory usage and system recovery strategy. In addition, it addresses the issue where multiple notifications cause the device to restart.
While the update is currently rolling out for the POCO F6 Pro, Xiaomi 11T Pro, Mix Fold 4, Xiaomi 13 Ultra, Mix Fold 3, and Xiaomi 13 Pro, we expect more phones to get the update. However, it seems the upgrade will be exclusive to premium phones, given the release pattern so far.
We hope to find out in the coming weeks if the update will arrive for mid-range phones. While that’s unlikely, we expect HyperOS 2.0 to seed for these phones. Xiaomi is already working on the upgrade, and we expect the rollout before the end of 2024.
