There are wide reports of Google Maps crashing on Android for some users. The issues have escalated in the last few hours, and it doesn’t seem to be a fix. However, you might be able to resolve the problem.
Google Maps is an important app for Android users. It is not surprising to see reports about the app crashing on Android by many people. While the app opens, as usual, it closes/crashes without any warning. This has made the app unusable for many people.
The issue seem to affect mainly Android users running Android 15 beta, but those on stable build are reporting the problem as well. Perhaps, the bug is exclusive to versions 11.114.x and 11.145 of the app for Android. If you can’t use Google Maps on your device, you might consider uninstalling the latest update.
We are running Google Maps v11.134.010 and v11.136.0101 on Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 7 Pro, respectively. There’s no such issue on both phones meaning it has to do with the version of the app you are running.
How to resolve Google Maps crashing on Android
Unfortunately, you can’t uninstall the app because it’s a system app. However, you can uninstall a recent update which is probably the same thing. Head to Settings>>Apps>>Google Maps. Click on the three dots at the top right and select uninstall updates.
