October 2024 Google Play system update is now available for download

Google announced the October 2024 Play system update a few days ago but never released it for download. As expected, the update is now available for eligible users, but you might just need to reboot your device to complete the installation.

Google Play system updates are released every month to all eligible devices in the Android ecosystem. In addition to introducing new features to Play services and the Play Store, they resolve issues and optimize performance.

The latest release has introduced all the new security features that started rolling out a few days ago. Theft Detection Lock, Offline Device Lock, and Remote Lock are all available after installing the latest update. You can easily enable them via Settings. When you are there, use the search bar to search for either of those.

Depending on your device, the update has likely been downloaded and you need to reboot your device to complete the installation.
