There have been many rumors about the possible Android 16 release date, as Google is making changes to its release schedule. The next Android OS will arrive early compared to previous releases.
So far, Google has introduced a new Android OS in the last quarter of the year, but apparently, this will change with the release of Android 16. The latest report suggests that the tech company will release Android 16 in the second quarter, which is between April and June.
Android 16 release date revealed
The leak didn’t stop at a time frame but went further to reveal the exact Android 16 release date, which is supposed to be on June 3 next year. Interestingly, Google will go back to releasing the source code and the over-the-air rollout the same day. The company probably will avoid the event of the current OS, which arrived on Pixel phones one month after the AOSP release.
The idea behind the change in release date, according to Google, is to make sure more smartphones can launch with the latest OS. A perfect example is the Pixel 9, which debuted with Android 14. We will probably see the Pixel 10 launch with Android 16, including the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. These phones are released between July and August.
