It does not seem Google will slow down with Android Auto updates as a new build starts rolling out in the stable channel. The beta release was only a few days, and now, the public can install the build, meaning the preview phase went smoothly, and it seems a new feature is coming to Android Auto.

Android Auto 13.3 stable

Android Auto 13.3 stable has been rolling out for a few days now. We understand it should be available for all eligible phones, but you can always side-load the APK using the link below. But why should you install the update? Does it come with any notable changes or bug fixes?

What to expect with Android Auto 13.3 stable

Unfortunately, we can not say what is on the build as Google did not release the update with a changelog. You have to install the update and play around with it to find out if any new changes were made. Also, we do not know if any bugs were fixed, but there have been traces of a new feature—Car Media—in development.

Google has been working on ways to make users listen to radio and play media files on their USB drives. Currently, that is only possible when you switch to the car infotainment system, meaning you can not access them via Android Auto. That can be frustrating since you will have to close the navigation app to listen to the radio, but that could soon be a thing of the past with the introduction of Car Media.

We understand Google is working on a new Car Media feature for users to access radio and media files on their USB drives directly from Android Auto. A few functions have been detailed, like the different categories, which might help sort out media files stored on the USB drive.

Aside from the progress made with Android Auto 13.3 stable, we understand there are some big fixes and improvements. For users who experiencing call-breaking issues, the update seems to have resolved it. You can download the latest build via the Play Store or this link.
