Samsung might yet to start rolling out the stable Android 15 update, but they are working on the build internally. Different Galaxy phones have been spotted on the Geekbench website running the latest Android OS, hinting at an imminent release. It seems the Galaxy A16 will receive the update alongside premium units.
Samsung recently reviewed its Android OS support for mid-range phones. Starting with Galaxy A16, the Korean company promised to release six Android OS updates. Launched in October 2024 with Android 14-based One UI 6.1, the device automatically becomes eligible for the Android 15 update. And as expected, Samsung has started working on the build.
Details of the Samsung Galaxy A16 Android 15-based One UI 7 update
Galaxy A16 Android 15-based One UI 7 has been spotted on Geekbench. It does not come as a surprise since the device is always going to receive the update. However, it is unlikely to be among the first few phones to get the update. We expect the Galaxy S24 Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 to be among the first devices to receive the new OS.
While we still do not know when the One UI 7 beta update will start rolling out, we know Samsung will officially announce the new iteration of One UI in January 2025. The Galaxy S25 series phones will run the new update outside of the box. We hope to learn more about the beta preview in the coming days.
