Xiaomi released the Pad 7 series Tablet in China late last year. The duo has supposedly made their Global debut, according to the company’s software support page. The listing confirms the support period for both Tablets.
With Pixel and Samsung offering seven years of software support, consumers now prioritize devices with a longer support period. Unfortunately, Xiaomi does not seem to be making any adjustments to its update policy, as it confirms the Xiaomi Pad 7 software support period.
Details of Xiaomi Pad 7 software support period
According to the official software support page, the Xiaomi Pad 7 and Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro will receive updates for three years. The duo is listed to have been released on March 1, 2025, and hence, will stop getting updates on March 1, 2028.
How many Android OS updates will the Xiaomi Pad 7 get?
Since Xiaomi has not reviewed its three-year software support period for Tablets, we believe it’s a single OS upgrade for the duo. Xiaomi Pad 6 received only a single Android OS update, and we don’t see that changing with the Xiaomi Pad 7 series. Perhaps we will find out when the company updates the AER list.
Nevertheless, if you are thinking of purchasing the Xiaomi Pad 7 or Xiaomi Pad 7 series, they are only eligible for three years of software support. We cannot say for sure how many Android OS updates, but we are sure of Android 16.
