Google has started rolling out the February 2025 System updates to Pixel users. It’s a global release, meaning all the eligible devices are getting the upgrade. We recommend installing it as it comes with loads of new features and bug fixes.
Unlike monthly security patches, Google System updates are released weeks after the announcement. A few days ago, the March 2025 build was detailed, and we expect the release to support units next month. Meanwhile, you can download the February 2025 Google System update on your device.
We understand it is not only Pixel phones that are getting the upgrade. Samsung has released the build to eligible Galaxy phones. Depending on your device, you will receive a different size update. On the Pixel 7 Pro, the update size is 53 MB. It took about a few minutes to download, but you need to reboot your device to complete the installation.
Changes made with the February 2025 Google System updates
There are loads of new features and bug fixes. We are particularly interested in connectivity-related issues. Google said they fixed issues with device connection-related services to improve the overall experience on Android Auto, Phones, and TVs. Below are the complete changes.

Some of these features are experimental and only available to certain users while some doesn’t make it to the public at all. Hence, seeing a feature on the changelog does not mean it is widely available.
If you are using a Pixel phone, head to Settings>>Security & privacy>> System & update>>Google Play system update. Follow the screen prompts to complete the download, and reboot your device to complete the installation.
