Xiaomi has extended the HyperOS 2 update to the Pad 6 across multiple regions. While the rollout initially appeared exclusive to Mi Pilot members, recent clarifications suggest it will be available to the public in the coming days.

Several reports indicate that the Xiaomi Pad 6 is unable to detect Wi-Fi networks on Channel 13, and the manual rotation button is missing. According to Xiaomi’s latest weekly HyperOS bug report, the removal of these features was intentional.
Xiaomi Pad 6 Wi-Fi Channel 13 Issue
Regarding the Wi-Fi issue, Xiaomi cited “regulatory risks” as the reason for keeping the default state to Channel 6. If your tablet cannot find your network, switching your router to Channel 6 should resolve the issue. This change seems to affect only the Global ROM, as other regional versions were not mentioned. While it’s unclear if other regions face the same problem, changing the tablet’s region settings may help.
Since this change has been implemented in the Global ROM on HyperOS 2, users should consider it before upgrading. If you need access to other Wi-Fi channels, particularly Channel 13, it may be best to avoid the HyperOS 2 update.
Manual Rotation Button Removed on Xiaomi Pad 6
Many users have reported that the manual rotation button disappeared after upgrading to HyperOS 2. Initially suspected to be a bug, Xiaomi has now confirmed that the feature was deliberately removed.

The manual rotation button, previously appearing on the screen’s edge, allowed users to rotate the display even when Auto Rotation was disabled. With its permanent removal, Xiaomi suggests enabling Auto Rotation as an alternative.
This issue appears to affect only Global models, specifically those running OS2.0.2.0.UMZMIXM. However, Xiaomi has indicated that the feature has been disabled across all Pad models.
If these changes impact your usage, it may be worth reconsidering the HyperOS 2 update before installation. Better skip the upgrade.
