Xiaomi has been rolling out updates more frequently for its eligible devices, with the latest HyperOS 2 update bringing stable Android 15. While the update introduces new features, it has also brought some issues. Users of the Redmi Note 12S are reporting significantly slower charging after upgrading.

Redmi Note 12S Slow Charging Issue
The Redmi Note 12S recently received the Android 15 update with HyperOS 2, initially rolled out to Mi Pilot members for testing. However, Xiaomi has paused the wider rollout as it investigates reports of slow charging.
Fast charging has always been a key feature of Xiaomi phones, making them popular for their balance of battery life and affordability. Normally, the 5,000mAh battery on the Redmi Note 12S should charge in under 90 minutes. However, after the latest update, users are experiencing significantly longer charging times. Worse still, Xiaomi has yet to determine the exact cause of the issue.
Possible Fix Coming Soon
Xiaomi is currently analyzing the problem and is expected to release a fix in the coming days. Until then, users are advised to avoid updating to the stable OS2.0.2.0.VHZMIXM version. If you’ve already updated and are facing slow charging, keep an eye out for the next software update, which should include a fix.
